The MandarWeb Website: The Mini-lessons via email page
Section 12. Free daily mini-lessons from Transparent Language etc
Various websites concerned with Mandarin offer daily or weekly "mini-lessons", with an expression or phrase in Chinese characters, Pinyin, and English. This is delivered automatically to your email box.
One of these is Transparent Language's "Word-of-the-day", at http://www.transparent.com/word-of-the-day/today/chinese.html [13]. If you sign up, a free lesson is delivered by email each day.
If you click on "Listen to native sound", a second panel comes up.
If you click on the loudspeaker symbol for the word, or the phrase containing it, after some seconds you will hear the Mandarin pronunciation.
Another site is eChineseLearning's newsletter, at http://www.newsletter@echineselearning.com [14]. This comes approximately weekly.
There are other such sites, however mostly they fade and disappear after a while. Transparent Language's site is one of the longer-lived.
